How it scared people
The vibe
Flanagan's impossible job was reconciling King's sequel novel with Kubrick's film, which King hated, and he mostly pulls it off by treating the Overlook as a wound rather than a set. Rebecca Ferguson's Rose the Hat is having a wonderful time. One scene involving a child in a field is crueller than anything in The Shining.
