Kiyoshi Kurosawa's internet-age ghost story reads dial-up loneliness as an apocalypse: spirits seeping through screens because the afterlife is as isolating as this one. Almost no jump scares, just smudged figures in doorways and a sadness that swallows Tokyo whole.
