How it scared people
The vibe
Rural Quebec, post-outbreak, and the infected have taken to stacking chairs, toys and furniture into enormous totems in the fields, then standing around them like worshippers. Nobody explains it. Aubert swept the Prix Iris and took TIFF's Best Canadian Feature with a zombie film far more interested in silence and farmland dread than in chase sequences.
