How it scared people
The vibe
Vincent Price called this his favourite of his own films, which figures: he plays a Shakespearean ham murdering the critics who mocked him, each death staged from a different play. The Titus Andronicus one — a critic force-fed his own poodles in a pie — is the gag people never forget. Camp, cruel, delighted with itself.
