How it scared people
The vibe
A film student researching audiovisual violence finds a tape she shouldn't have, and Amenabar, twenty-four and making his first feature, turns the university's basement corridors into a maze where the light is always on the wrong side. The smartest thing here is how it implicates you: the camera keeps cutting away from the tape, and you lean in anyway.
