How it scared people

The vibe

By the third film the horror is gone entirely and what's left is a Ray Harryhausen tribute with a chainsaw hand — stop-motion skeletons, a medieval siege, and Bruce Campbell delivering "boomstick" and "Klaatu barada nikto" with total conviction. Watch it for the slapstick, not the scares; there are effectively none of the latter.
