How it scared people
The vibe
Egypt's biggest horror swing: a psychiatrist returns to the criminal ward at Abbasiya to evaluate an old friend accused of murder, and a hallucinogen stamped with a six-legged elephant starts opening doors that should stay shut. Adapted from Ahmed Mourad's novel, it runs a hefty 170 minutes and put Egyptian genre VFX on the map. Occult, not clinical.
