How it scared people
The vibe
A bamboo grove shot like an underworld, with fog, moonlight and a gate house that shouldn't be there, and inside it two women who tear out samurai throats with their teeth and lick the blood off like cats. Shindo's wire-assisted movement, figures drifting backward through doorways, is stranger than any effect money can buy. Mournful, and quietly furious about war.
