The vibe
Perkins shoots an FBI procedural like a half-remembered nightmare: dead air, wrong framings, and Nicolas Cage as a satanic killer kept mostly at the edges. The plot is pulp; the atmosphere is the point — few recent films sustain this much ambient wrongness.
