How it scared people
The vibe
A Delta blues picture that happens to contain vampires, shot on IMAX 65mm — and the juke-joint sequence, one long take where Sammie's playing pulls in musicians from five centuries at once, is why people talk about it. When the blood arrives it arrives in volume. The horror is the least interesting thing here, which is a compliment.
