How it scared people

The vibe

Sixty thousand dollars bought high-contrast black-and-white reversal stock, which blows out every gray and makes New York look like a migraine. A camera rig bolted to Sean Gullette's chest is why the city seems to swing around his skull. Clint Mansell's first score, two years before Requiem for a Dream made him famous.
