How it scared people
The vibe
One vertical prison, one platform of food descending floor by floor, and a monthly lottery that reassigns your level. The allegory is about as subtle as a hammer and the film could not care less; what makes it work is how physically disgusting it's willing to get about the argument. It holds up better than it should.
